Organisational change can take many forms, but one thing’s for sure – change doesn’t come easy. Successful change management requires strategic leadership, control, and the ability to overcome resistance.
PepsiCo Australia & New Zealand knows this better than most, having recently been recognised for Best Change Management Strategy at the Australian HR Awards. In response to changing customer and market dynamics, PepsiCo embarked on a major transformation agenda driven by the HR team in partnership with the executive team, key sales leaders and managers across the business.
Shiona Watson, HR director for PepsiCo ANZ, credits the success of the change management strategy to the focus on people issues as the priority from the outset and at every stage of planning and implementation. Watson says that key to the outcome of the project was for change mechanisms to remain in place to provide sustained support after the organisational restructure.
Watson will be sharing insights from the PepsiCo transformation at the National HR Summit in Sydney next April. Her presentation will cover evidence-based approaches to change management and tips for getting stakeholders onboard. You will also gain insight into how PepsiCo approached policy development, workflow mapping and benchmarking and incorporated these into the change agenda.
