Covid-19 And The Future Of Business – IBM

The IBM’s Covid-19 and the future of business – Executive epiphanies reveal post-pandemic opportunities report analyzes how executives and business leaders are changing their priorities as a result of the impacts of the Covid-19 to the workplace. Data from this report were collected by surveying more than 3,000 executives and professionals globally.

Some main findings from this report include:

  • More than half of surveyed respondents claimed they have boosted their digital transformation within their organization and nearly two third of them reported to have been able to achieve the digital transformation goals that were faced with opposition previously.
  • A majority of organizations indicated that in order to repond to the pandemic and its impacts, they have made significant changes to their system and processes including moving most of business activites to cloud-based, speeding up the automation process, amending their change management plans and permanently adjusting their organizational strategy.
  • Although more than 70% of employees rekoned that they are helping their employees developing skills they require to work in a new way, less than 40% of staff agreed so. Similarly, a majority of organizations thought they are supporting the physical and mental well being of employees, but less than half of interviewed employeed thought the same. There is also a gap between the number of employers reporting they have been given clear instructions to employees about organizational guidines and expection for future work and the number of employees who reports the same.
  • Due to the impact of Covid-19, instead of focusing on external growth, most organizations decided to put more priority in internal development.
  • In comparison with past years, most survyed leaders aimed to engage more with partner, platform and ecosystem networks.
  • Over the last four years, concerns about sustainability, environmenal impact, workforce safety and security have dramatically increased among organisation leaders, with more than 90% of them worried about workforce safety in 2022.
